Short Little Legs....

Today my husband and I went to Lowe's to pick up some things to make Jozi a ramp off our deck since her short little legs and her unsure-ness of going down stairs is pretty frightful for the little one and frankly a little for me too.

....One long board + ....Two side railings + ....A few nails + ....Green indoor/outdoor carpeting = comfort, security and happiness in a Corgi Named Jozi... Priceless!!

My husband made a ramp complete with railings and carpeted it nicely.

Pink Wubba LOVE

One of the first toys that we bought for Jozi was a KONG Wubba pink toy in hopes that she would chew on it and the squeaker in it would keep her attention....she loves it and it seems to be holding up really well (unlike the other toys that she has pulled the stuffing out of, unwound the threads from and dismantled the eyes and ears of)....so I'm thinking we are going to stick to the KONG toys....

I just signed up for their newsletter and it also entered me into a drawing to win some fab KONG treats/toys....I'm sure Jozi would love me more if she was the proud winner of some KONG toys!

We will have to wait and see!

Chew-FEST

I guess I never realized that when a puppy is quiet it can only mean one of two things.......
Sleeping......or DESTROYING something.
The latter is the case when I found shredded linoleum pieces after a bout of very quiet puppy syndrome......OMG

I've heard that Corgis have stomaches of steel....I certainly hope so....OMG

But it's so hard to get mad at this face for even a little while....

Trials and Tribulations

Today was one of those days....unsure of what to do, how to do it and when to do it with a new puppy in the household.  Turned upside down with poop bags, accidents, doggie treats and scared and restless kitty cats that seem to falter when the shrill bark of a new Corgi puppy awakens them and me from a sound sleep. 
Will it get any better?
Why won't she sleep?
Where is the OFF button?

Oh my gosh.....being a puppy parent is hard work and the rewards right now are few and far between.....

First Shopping Trip and Quick Walk

So, this morning we went on our first shopping trip to the pet store to pick up a few things....Jozi needed a halter collar and we found the perfect PINK polka dotted one.....she's such a girl.....

We plopped her into the cart and she stood up the entire time as we steered the cart through the store; albeit there were many times where people just wanted to scoop her up and take her away from us....you just don't see many Corgis around our town.

When we checked out with all of Jozi's garb, the guy at the register said to me "that's a pretty cool hood ornament you have there" as Jozi was standing up commanding attention in the cart leaning out the front of the cart......I only wish I had my camera with me that day......

We then headed to the park for a "first walk" which lasted all but 5 minutes....she was literally  pooped from the car ride and the shopping trip and all she wanted to do was lie in the grass so we headed home for a rest break for us and a nap for Jozi....

August 19 - Meet The Vet

So, Jozi is 8.8 lbs.....overall healthy and she is quite a handful at the vet today.
SO excited to see people and she is a licking machine to everyone she meets....even the HUGE lab at the vet today....
Third set of shots and some medicine and we headed back home....she definately does NOT like the car ride home today but hopefully she will get used to this very soon!

Welcome Home Jozi !!

Today is the day that we finally brought home our new fur baby, Jozi. She is an 11-week old red Pembroke Welsh Corgi and from the first time I saw her, I knew that we had to adopt her immediately.

The trials and tribulations will soon begin as we embark on our journey of being "puppy parents" and experience the highs and lows of opening our household up to not only two furry felines but now a puppy.
